A little about me:
I am the proud mother of two incredible daughters and one goofy dog. We love nature and everything active. Whether it involves cheering on my children's weekend soccer or volleyball games, volunteering at their school, or traveling to go snowboarding or snorkeling, we do it together. My family and faith are the most important things to me as a person. Oh, and cheering for my beloved Aggies..... Gig 'em!
As a child, I moved every two years. I was not a military family, but one from a broadcast journalism industry - you moved wherever your father had an opportunity. I have lived in more places than I care to remember, and had a challenging youth in creating my identity. Every time I began to establish friends, or home, it was time to pack up and start all over. Today, I can use that experience for the better, but as a child, I dealt with social anxiety, lack of confidence, and overall uncertainty of my future or place in the world.
The choices I made in my life centered around making people happy and proud, but I did not know who I was as a person until very recently. As a former HR executive and consultant, I know the way that Corporate America works, and how quickly your identity can be taken away. Life contains so many "I should", "I have to", and "they will be so disappointed if I don't" moments. As adults, we have learned to put our heads down and get it done, but at what cost? The honest reality is that we have one life and one opportunity to live for ourselves. What does your head and heart say? What choices can you make today to ensure that at the end of your journey, you chose the right path for you?
